Random Week Happenings

I realised it's been over a week since I blogged, that means it is time for a blog post before I become too lazy and decide never to blog again... Hopefully that won't happen. Nothing much has actually happened since uni started, well, nothing much that I can remember anyways. The early mornings mean that I now care even less about how I look (and how I looked before wasn't great) and I have managed to master the skill and create the all time record of getting up and getting out of the house in 10 minutes. I am a girl! Which girl does that you tell me?? Even those who don't care about how they look take at least 15 minutes. That's mostly because they shower in the morning. I'm a night shower person - means I get to sleep more in the morning :D Yes I am lazy.

Being lazy also means that I am slowly slipping from uni but it isn't as bad as last time. Nowadays I make sure I spend at least some time everyday doing something uni related. Going to uni counts too :) But usually i will look over some uni things afterwards just to make sure they don't all slip out of my mind. I've also been diligently recording all my lectures. Now all I have to do is diligently listen to them haha

Okay to more important things :) The Weather!!

I'm positive I have moaned at least once about how Scotland is dull and depressing! But my cries have been answered! WE GOT SUN!! I took some pictures on my way back home last week because the sun was so pretty. I almost teared up when I caught a glimpse. Almost right. I'm not that sad. Look at the pretty sun ^^"

Even managed to take a Panorama shot :D

Also the other day, I half made, half persuaded Christina to play with my hair, mainly because we were bored waiting for class to start. She is one amazing person with knowledge of how to do many braids. I should ask her for lessons. I only know how to do normal and french. Fish braids are out of my league!!

Blurred pic >< In my defence, I didn't take the picture

Better looking pic :) this braid sticks out! I think it's so pretty! But the end didn't really turn out well hence I did not stick a picture of my face. You are all spared haha. Oh Sarah is in the background~

I also have this new thing where I LOVE freebies. Like really love. I can spend hours just surfing trying to see where I can get free things. Free makeup is my favourite. Unfortunately, most of the free makeup out there nowadays is for anti ageing so I just hand it to my mum. But free is better than none right? I'm a student, I need to save, free things are good ^^ Got free sample of Lancome foundation :)

This is how it looks :) Not that big but good enough to take on a short trip!

That's all that's happened so far lately. I should do a blog post on where to get freebies and all the freebies I got so far. Got quite a few actually. OH NO! I'm turning into an auntie ><

There are no Fat people, Only Lazy People

You know the saying "There are no ugly woman, just lazy ones"? Today I want to apply it to a new concept "There are no fat people, only lazy ones"

Disclaimer: I know that not everyone chooses to be fat and there are diseases which affects the body weight of an individual. What I am talking about is people who can be slim yet cannot be bothered and instead just choose to moan about it all day

I also want to say that I know some people think "fat" is politically incorrect but I admit I'm lazy and "fat" is the easiest to type so there.

Have you ever heard of someone moaning that they are fat/overweight/have a lot of flab etc etc? And all you want to do is tell that person to shut up (if they're thin) or go to the gym (if they're actually fat?). Obviously most people would not say that because they would most likely lose that friend if they did, or get squished.

Wells, truth to be told. People who are on the upper end of the scales do have a choice. Putting genetics and illnesses and cultures aside, I believe that if you really want something and are willing to work hard enough for it, you will get it. So what if you weigh 200pounds? With the correct determination and right exercise, nothing is impossible.

In today's society, the obese ones are generally either the really rich or the really poor, but that doesn't mean that the middleclass is perfect. Far from that. Did you know the average size for a British woman is a SIZE 16(USA 12, Euro 46)????!!!!! Yes, that is the average, but that is also overweight. This means that the average UK female population is overweight. So what do we do about it? Moan? Cry? Get plastic surgery only to eat more and render it useless (like Kerry Katona). No. You work for your ideal weight.

I'm not saying that being size 0 is healthy, no way. I believe in proportions. If you are tall and a size 12, that's more than acceptable because you are in proportion. But if you are short and a size 16. Time to hit the gym mate.

So how impossible is it to lose weight? Not very. Here's how:

Patience

Changing your body to its ideal shape will not automatically happen in a day or a week. For some people it will take longer than others. So just wait. If you can wait a few months for the latest phone you want to be released, you can wait for you body to adapt to your new lifestyle and give it time to change accordingly. I also want to emphasize that BINGE WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT HEALTHY. If you are extremely round (See! I can be politically correct) and lose a big amount of weight in a short time, you will be left with excess skin which is not pretty. Give your body time to adapt and make slow changes.

Healthy Eating is the way to go

This is probably one of the most contradictory phrases I will ever say because I am anything but healthy but I'm not the one trying to cut down here. Sorry mate, if you wanna lose weight, you have to give up the takeouts and fried foods and the midnight snacking. I might have said this before but one of my lecturers once mentioned "If you want to lose weight, eat more" and this is true. Eating smaller meals but more frequently has proven to be healthier and a key aspect in staying slim because your body is constantly being provided with energy and will not feel the need to store as much energy. Yo-yo eating is usually ineffective as you're depriving your body of food for long periods of time so the minute it is provided with energy, it will save every last ounce of it because it knows it will not get any in a while. You need to eat in a way that is best for your body.
As for the diet, replace the unhealthy crisps with fruits and nuts, the carbohydrates with proteins and eat regular portions and you shall soon see a difference.

Exercise

A diet is ineffective without the aid of exercise. Exercise isn't just effective for losing weight, but in the long term brings better health both physically and mentally. As quoted from Legally Blonde "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy" So along with the new diet, go for regular walks and maybe a jog once a week. If you don't want to go to the gym, you don't have to. Walking up and down the stairs a few times is just as good and will save you pennies ^^" I know some people think exercise is a scary aspect, but hey! No pain no gain right? So get off that bum and do a few circles round the block! Keep it up and soon those scales will be tipping downwards. Another tip is to not eat immediately after exercising but wait at least an hour.

Have a buddy lose weight with you

It is not easy to try and lose weight yourself especially if you are not someone with a strong mind and is easily swayed. Or if you like to talk yourself into procrastinating like I do. Find a buddy and embark on a losing weight journey together! That way you can encourage each other and set challenges and targets for each other. It makes this whole thing a lot more fun in my opinion. Of course, this isn't necessary, some prefer to work alone. So each to his own :)

So that's all I have to say. Stop moaning and start planning on how to be healthy and not overweight! A healthy person is a happy one. You will also feel more confident and those around you will definitely be able to feel it. Who knows? You might inspire someone else to follow in your footsteps.

My Frape Journey...

If you don't know, Frape = Facebook Rape. It is basically referring to your friends posting status through your FB account or liking photos etc. But this is done excessively (e.g. posting a really funny/crazy/silly status)

If being fraped was down to luck, then I am one extremely unlucky person. Because I've been fraped so much I don't even bother fighting back anymore. If I dislike the stat, I will delete :)

Still, some of my frapes are pretty hilarious so I am gonna share them here. The odd thing is, when I was looking through my profile to try and find frapes, I could only find 5... I'M SURE I GOT FRAPED MORE THAN 5 TIMES!!! FACEBOOK WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY STATUSES???!!!

At least the 5 weren't too bad.. wells, 2 of them are pretty sad, but the rest is good I guess.

Welcome to my Frapeland!

This was the bad one... yes I know my cover up skills are bad too.. I tried okay!

This was epic! Partly because so many people asked me afterwards if it was true haha

Personally I think it's such a shame that I could not find the rest of my frapes. I'm sure there was one which involved me dropping my iphone which was pretty funny. I want my frapes back Facebook!!

That's all~ Hope you had a laugh :)

Reality TV Konquerors

Kollection. Kolor. Konfidential. Kofessions. Khaos.

Know who I'm talking about yet?

Yes. It's the KARDASHIANS. And Jenners too but Kardashian is the name.

If you aren't familiar with this family, a simple Google search will bring you plenty of results of news surrounding this family, their wacky antics as well as their various businesses. Many people would argue that this family hav no talent. They are famous for being rich and are a bunch of people with no substance. But I beg to differ.

I wouldn't call myself a Kardashian fan, but I love to google random famous people and find out about their lives. I also watch Keeping up with the Kardashians which my dad calls "rubbish" but I find entertaining. You have to agree that some of the things this family comes up with is pure crazy. But maybe because they are so big, thus everyday is filled with entertainment.

But back to the topic of substance. Yes the Kardashians are rich (the late Robert Kardashian was an attorney and I'm sure they had other businesses too) and they first got famous because they are rich (and Kim's sex tape helped too) but there is also an argument that they have great business acumen and know how to seek out opportunities as well as grab hold of chances. The DASH store is frequently featured in their reality TV show but how many people know that these sisters had the store even before the show was created. And how many people know that Kim Kardashian started her career by borrowing money from her father to buy limited edition items and reselling them for a profit. The sisters then expanded to rearranging wardrobes. Yes the sisters are rich, but they still depended on themselves and their hard work to get to where they are today. Of course, they also have their mother to thank.

Kris Jenner is their momager (mom-manager). She seeks out work opportunities and makes sure her daughters are getting the best out of a deal. She is always there for her girls and always ready to help with their troubles whether it's personal or work-related. And it seems that this work ethic is prominent throughout the clan. Bruce was an olympic runner who later branched into racing and ran his own business afterwards. Kendall and Kylie are the youngest but Kylie already has a foothold in the modelling world and these sisters are about to have a clothing line named after them. Robert Kardashian is also following in his sisters fashion foosteps, releasing his own sock line.

So those who claim this family is but famous for being famous. Think again. They might have had a more privileged beginning, but it was hard work that has taken them to where they are today.
