There are no Fat people, Only Lazy People

You know the saying "There are no ugly woman, just lazy ones"? Today I want to apply it to a new concept "There are no fat people, only lazy ones"

Disclaimer: I know that not everyone chooses to be fat and there are diseases which affects the body weight of an individual. What I am talking about is people who can be slim yet cannot be bothered and instead just choose to moan about it all day

I also want to say that I know some people think "fat" is politically incorrect but I admit I'm lazy and "fat" is the easiest to type so there.

Have you ever heard of someone moaning that they are fat/overweight/have a lot of flab etc etc? And all you want to do is tell that person to shut up (if they're thin) or go to the gym (if they're actually fat?). Obviously most people would not say that because they would most likely lose that friend if they did, or get squished.

Wells, truth to be told. People who are on the upper end of the scales do have a choice. Putting genetics and illnesses and cultures aside, I believe that if you really want something and are willing to work hard enough for it, you will get it. So what if you weigh 200pounds? With the correct determination and right exercise, nothing is impossible.

In today's society, the obese ones are generally either the really rich or the really poor, but that doesn't mean that the middleclass is perfect. Far from that. Did you know the average size for a British woman is a SIZE 16(USA 12, Euro 46)????!!!!! Yes, that is the average, but that is also overweight. This means that the average UK female population is overweight. So what do we do about it? Moan? Cry? Get plastic surgery only to eat more and render it useless (like Kerry Katona). No. You work for your ideal weight.

I'm not saying that being size 0 is healthy, no way. I believe in proportions. If you are tall and a size 12, that's more than acceptable because you are in proportion. But if you are short and a size 16. Time to hit the gym mate.

So how impossible is it to lose weight? Not very. Here's how:

Patience

Changing your body to its ideal shape will not automatically happen in a day or a week. For some people it will take longer than others. So just wait. If you can wait a few months for the latest phone you want to be released, you can wait for you body to adapt to your new lifestyle and give it time to change accordingly. I also want to emphasize that BINGE WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT HEALTHY. If you are extremely round (See! I can be politically correct) and lose a big amount of weight in a short time, you will be left with excess skin which is not pretty. Give your body time to adapt and make slow changes.

Healthy Eating is the way to go

This is probably one of the most contradictory phrases I will ever say because I am anything but healthy but I'm not the one trying to cut down here. Sorry mate, if you wanna lose weight, you have to give up the takeouts and fried foods and the midnight snacking. I might have said this before but one of my lecturers once mentioned "If you want to lose weight, eat more" and this is true. Eating smaller meals but more frequently has proven to be healthier and a key aspect in staying slim because your body is constantly being provided with energy and will not feel the need to store as much energy. Yo-yo eating is usually ineffective as you're depriving your body of food for long periods of time so the minute it is provided with energy, it will save every last ounce of it because it knows it will not get any in a while. You need to eat in a way that is best for your body.
As for the diet, replace the unhealthy crisps with fruits and nuts, the carbohydrates with proteins and eat regular portions and you shall soon see a difference.

Exercise

A diet is ineffective without the aid of exercise. Exercise isn't just effective for losing weight, but in the long term brings better health both physically and mentally. As quoted from Legally Blonde "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy" So along with the new diet, go for regular walks and maybe a jog once a week. If you don't want to go to the gym, you don't have to. Walking up and down the stairs a few times is just as good and will save you pennies ^^" I know some people think exercise is a scary aspect, but hey! No pain no gain right? So get off that bum and do a few circles round the block! Keep it up and soon those scales will be tipping downwards. Another tip is to not eat immediately after exercising but wait at least an hour.

Have a buddy lose weight with you

It is not easy to try and lose weight yourself especially if you are not someone with a strong mind and is easily swayed. Or if you like to talk yourself into procrastinating like I do. Find a buddy and embark on a losing weight journey together! That way you can encourage each other and set challenges and targets for each other. It makes this whole thing a lot more fun in my opinion. Of course, this isn't necessary, some prefer to work alone. So each to his own :)

So that's all I have to say. Stop moaning and start planning on how to be healthy and not overweight! A healthy person is a happy one. You will also feel more confident and those around you will definitely be able to feel it. Who knows? You might inspire someone else to follow in your footsteps.
